Security – Processes and Best Practices
We had the pleasure of welcoming Camilo Rodríguez Blanco to our offices, where he led a session on best practices in cryptocurrency security, covering key processes to safeguard our digital assets and operate securely in this environment.
These types of training sessions allow us to continue strengthening our team, ensuring we have the necessary knowledge to stay at the forefront of the crypto world.
During this workshop, we covered a variety of essential topics:
1. Compliance and Regulation – Discussed Compliance in crypto, blacklisted countries, regulations, and KYC/AML implementation in exchanges.
2. Wallets and Asset Custody – Explored cold vs. hot wallets (Ledger, Trezor) and the added security of multi-signature wallets.
3. On-chain Analysis and Traceability – Demonstrated Arkham, analyzed coin mixing implications, and reviewed the Malone case on transaction traceability.
4. Social Engineering and Threats – Examined common manipulation techniques, real-world attack cases, and strategies to prevent security breaches.
5. Personal Digital Security – Covered digital identity protection, the role of IPs, and the use of VPNs and virtual machines for added security.
6. Authentication and Fraud Prevention – Highlighted 2FA as essential for security, identified AI-driven scams, and discussed source verification strategies.
7. Exchange Security – Reviewed criteria for choosing secure exchanges, best trading practices, and safe deposit/withdrawal protocols.
8. Introduction to Trading – Explained auction theory, price formation, Japanese candlesticks, and executed live trading examples on Bitget and OKX.
9. OTC Trading – Covered OTC desk operations and wholesale transactions via different platforms.
